Guest guest
> Is anyone on Lipitor or other cholesterol-lowering drugs > > Hi Carolyn, > In the summer of this year, I started taking Cholestyramin (a cholestrol lowering med), not to lower my cholestrol, but to try and regulate my body's production and release of bile salts. (I was fighting some nasty diarrhea, I have no gall bladder, so my GP thought that was the problem. It did fix those problems--so that I can now eat most anything I want without fear. I still take the medication but on a very irregular basis.) As I reflect on this, it was just this Fall when I started noticing any of the CMT signs-- particularly pain and weakness in my lower legs and ankles--and weakness in my hands. Don't know it any of it is connected or not, but at least it is noted. Good luck with your mother's treatment. > Ann > > > I was taking Lipitor but stopped taking it after finding out that it can cause peripheral neuropathy. Just what a person with CMT needs right, more peripheral neuropathy symptoms! I had sites telling about Lipitor causing neuropathy but pc crashed and I lost all bookmarks. Ann what part of Missouri do you live in? I'm in the extreme southwest area. ~>Becky M. > >
