Guest guest
I had a similar experience and it lasted about 6 months. Seems that when the colitis flares up now, so does my bladder. Since starting the SCD diet (2 weeks ago) this has completely subsided. Thank God, because I was getting up about 3 times a night and then peeing like 10-12 times a day.AddieSCD 2 weeksUC 8 yrs.Santa Cruz, Ca.30yrs. oldblackguitarmaker wrote: i've been having to get up at least once a night to go - any weird correlation???? thought i heard crohns can damage the bladder - am i nuts or maybe because i'm "forming a bm" not to be gross but i go when i get up faithfully and they weren't formed before scd - would that do it eileen

Guest guest
Eileen I have Interstitial Cystitis (IC), which is inflammation of the bladder lining. It's common for women, according to my gynecologist, but most don't know it until the symptoms become severe. One of the symptoms is urinary urgency and frequency. I found that during major die-off periods and detoxing during the first 2 years on SCD I'd also have IC symptom flares for a day or two. Your bladder might just be sensitive to die-off toxins right now, so you might find that you'll go through these episodes off and on for the next few months. I had episodes off and on for such a long time only because I was also getting a candida/yeast overgrowth under control. I think a regular SCD de-tox would have finished by the end of the first year. If you find this persists, look at the supplements you're currently using. I have issues with lots of supplements due to having IC. You might need to cut back on anything with vitamins C and B; and too high doses of probiotics (or antibiotics or antifungals) also cause bladder inflammation. Of course my IC symptoms flare for a lot of other reasons, but I know the triggers and am careful with them. Usually with die-off the urinary urgency and frequency just lasts a day or two, sometimes just a few hours, then disappears until the next thing comes along. Kim M.
