i don't even need to loose weight and have already lost almost 5 pounds on the diet. i think if you follow the diet from the intro phase into phase 5 and don't overdo the "good carbs" you will def loose weight. most importantly, you should find relief from your symptoms. hope this helps, Misty Kimble , LA CD SCD - Jan 5, 2008 jfarist1 wrote: I have recently been

made aware of the SC diet and have several questions. I do not have Chron's disease, but I do have a lot of the same issues (diahrrea, constipation, severe pain, nausea, etc...) in fact, I have been to more than 25 different doctors since the onset of my illness in late '03 and none have been able to diagnose EXACTLY what my troubles are, but because of the strange ulcer-like places in my small intestines, my newest doctor (a pain management specialist who has a daughter with severe Chron's) told me that this diet may be helpful to me. One of my most noticble differences from a chrons patient is my incredible weight GAIN (70 lbs). Before I got sick I was always struggling with about 30-40 lbs of excess weight. Just months before my sudden onset of symptoms, I had gotten heavier than I ever was before. I decided to follow the Atkins diet and lost a lot of weight rather quickly (39lbs in 3mths). It was about 2 1/2 - 3

months after I stopped Atkins (Nov. of 2003) that my symptoms started. I gained all of that weight back rather quickly and have been unable to loose ANY amount of weight since, even during the periods of time that I was symptom free. Since food is about the ONLY thing that doesnt cause me pain, it is understandable that I have gained ALOT!!! Is it predicted that I should loose weight with this "diet" as well as see an improvement in my symptoms?
