Guest guest
Oh , You touched on my favorite beverage. I have only one cup of coffee and drink it quite early in the morning. I use a Meliita filter cone and brown paper lining. I get Organica coffee beans at Costco and freeze them, taking out about a half cup and letting them sit at room temperature before grinding. I keep the grounds in an old candy tin. I have a beautiful Starbucks thermal mug I bought eight years ago. I set the filter right on the mug and my ratio is twice as much water as one would normally use. I add 4 saccharine tablets and a few drops of vanilla and savor that cup for about forty minutes. I can feel the caffeine stimulating my brain. > Hello All, > > I love coffee. I've been drinking it at coffee shops, just > ordering it 1/2 hot water, 1/2 coffee. > Do other people dilute it as much? Guest guest
Hi I went to starbucks last night, as I was shopping at target...and the lady asked me if I wanted her to dilute the coffee half and half...because it was way way way strong.... I suggested that she just pour me a cup of coffee, and if she could give me an extra cup I could dilute it myself. I had a bottle of water with me....and mixed it half and half...or actually more water than coffee, and then I took the rest of the undiluted coffee home to sip on for the rest of the day! I know coffee is only like a dollar, but i figure....you may as well get the whole cup of coffee- especially if it is that good! I make about 4 cups of water per 1 level tablespoon coffee ( dark roast).....and then I usually end up mixing it half and half with water after it brews. I have been illegal in the fact that I drink more than one cup of coffee a day. I love tea too, so I have no excuse but being too lazy to rip open a tea bag! For some reason I remember thinking that a french press is not a good idea....why would I think that though???? Sorry I am not much help...but I love coffee too, so I thought I'd chime in! sandy uc since 2004 scd 2 monthschixfreenug wrote: Hello All,I love coffee. Guest guest
There is no one cup limit as far as I know. Caffeine really has a stimulating effect on me and if I exceed my limit, even early in the day I can't get to sleep.A French Press doesnt fiter out the bitter oils whch paper filters can do. I get heartburn when I don't filter.Hi I went to starbucks last night, as I was shopping at target...and the lady asked me if I wanted her to dilute the coffee half and half...because it was way way way strong.... Guest guest
carol, Thanks for clarifying....I did relook through btvc book and didn't see any limits on coffee. So this is true? NOw I don't have to feel so guilty? It's interesting about sleep too..because I used to be caffeine free a year before starting scd...and had to add it back! But like you, I tend to be up late some nights because of high caffeine energy! Do you think there is something harmful with the oils that don't filter out? besides heartburn? thanks, sandy uc since 2004 scd 2 monthsCarol Frilegh wrote: There is no one cup limit as far as I know.
