Guest guest
Check out www.starfall.com for Reading. Subject: Reading comprehension websiteTo: sList Date: Sunday, August 10, 2008, 7:44 PM Hello all, Is anyone familiar with an educational website that's got good reading comprehension material that I can print out for my child. I don't mind paying a reasonable annual membership fee as long as the website has what I'm looking for. I was looking at enchanted learning but I don't see anything specfic to reading comprehension. My child is going into the 2nd grade. Thanks! AM
Guest guest
My son (almost 7) likes www.bookadventure.org. Created by Sylvan learning center and its free. You can print book lists, or take quizzes on books you have already read. You earn points for 80 or 90% score (depends on the reading level). You can cash points in for prizes (like 6 mos of Highlights magazine, or some book choices, bookmark, chocolate bar etc..). You can also print out award certificates. Its a more fun way of doing Reading Comp because it uses your child's interests in creating book lists. Downside.....I dont know if you can print the quizzes out. Also, whereas they have a lot of books in the "Quiz-o-matic", there are a lot that my son has previously read that he wanted to quiz on, but couldnt find. Its for Kindergarten and up. I also use some of the workbooks from ACE educational superstore or even and Noble carries some decent ones. Good Luck!!
