 I am forwarding this, because it's important. Marty sent it to me. A few are funny, but most are poignant. I do not believe in violence, but I do believe in being prepared. One never knows what tomorrow will bring. I do try to remember to create my own world; think positive; and use God's Light to protect those I love. It does work. However, when governments want to pass laws, to make guns illegal for the people, be ware. Enough said.

PS. When our president was campaigning for his office, one of the things was to outlaw guns. I wrote him, and explained that even if guns are outlawed, criminals will always have a way to get them. Also, to look at world history. It shows whenever guns have been banned, tyranny took over.

If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.' 6 Beware the man who only carries one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!! But wait, there's more! I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!' To which I said, of course it is loaded, it can't work without

bullets!' She then asked, 'Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?' My reply was, “No not at all. Imagine if we gave ourselves the same support that we give other countries. I feel bad for them, but I wonder who cares about America .

I don't believe in having a gun in my home, unless I was hunter. I wont buy a gun, its not necessary for me to have one. But I dont think the any one has the right to tell me to hand over my weapons if I am a sane person. They should not allow people that have mental handicaps, or felons to be allowed to buy a gun, but they could get it any way some how or another, if they want it.Its like drugs, or any thing else illegal. If you want it bad enough you will find a way to get it. So then the gov't has control of any thing illegal and calls it the war on....guns, drugs, terrorism...all those names they give to give themselves more control.From: Joyce

I feel exactly the same way, Michele and Marty. This is how the 2nd amendment originally read.

the people have a right to bear arms for the defense of themselves and the state; and as standing armies in the time of peace are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be kept up; And that the military should be kept under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

Here is how it reads now.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.There's been an on going debate since the 1700s, whether Jefferson meant individuals or militia. Now, common sense says, militias need arms to be a militia. So, why make an amendment in the Constitution about militias. However, back in Jefferson's time, the people came together to defend their homes/rights. They became the militia. Jefferson also stated that a little rebellion was good for a country. Militia normally don't rebel, but people do and should in my opinion, when laws and the powers that be, become unjust, which has been gradually happening for the last few decades. How to rebel, should start with petitions, then marches. However, all the people would have to be conscientious and not ostriches. Our country is too big, now. There are too many ostriches. It will take a lot more injustices for a mass rebellion, which is what it would take. the ongoing debate...

If you read Jefferson's words,he seemed to know that one day..as have ALL the world powers through time,That one day the people will have to keep control of the government or it WILL control them,Jefferson did a lot of writings,and speeches about this.If you go to the Jefferson Memorial in D.C. there are a lot of his writings all around the inside of it..it is like he could see the future..like the way it is now??

But I think he studied the way of past powers..
