A friend who works for Delta told me, "If just one customer complains, we can return to the terminal to have the passenger removed for being disruptive." The airlines have enough people willing to pay the increased fares and they often over book, so if they remove one passenger they can put someone else on. When my son was little I gave him gum or a bottle of juice to prevent his ears from popping, and made sure his favorite stuffed toy was in the seat with him to keep him quiet. I guess the airlines will next require autistic children to be sedated prior to flying. I have had so called normal children screaming and kicking my seat during flights and nothing was done, even when I mentioned it to the flight attendants. I wonder if they only correct the behavior of the disabled. DonnaSubject: Toddler with Autism Booted off PlaneTo: deniseslist Date: Wednesday, June 25, 2008, 5:52 PM

Donna,

It's funny you say that, as I just mentioned to a friend yesterday

how every time we hear one of these stories about families being

removed from a plane it is always a child with autism. Which I am

sure cannot possibly be true considering how many flights there are

every day, but with autism being such a " hot topic " in the media,

that is what is reported because it captures an audience. I

appreciate autism getting attention in the public eye, but sometimes

it feels like we're part of a big circus freakshow for eveyone to

watch.
