Screening for autism questions.

Hi everyone. We are in the process of trying to get my 3 1/2 year old

autic son some help through a government program. I received a letter

from the place today stating that the report that she received from my

son's dr did not refrence any testing measurments, such as ADOS, ADI-R,

GARS, and /or CARS. My questions are these: Are these screenings

necessary to diagnose autism, what kind of dr should do them if they

are necessary. My son's neurologist did not do any of these screenings

and neither did his psychologist. If they are suppose to be done to

help diagnose him than I would like any information anyone can give me

about these screenings and how to get them. Thank you in advance.
