Guest guest Posted September 2, 2008 Report Share Posted September 2, 2008 Actually, The section of the article that caught my interest is this statement ( I didn ot care about the dolphins abilities): " Children with Autism don't really need our language. It is too cumbersome. They trip over it. " I share the view that Children in the spectrum do not feel the need to communicate amongst themselves in the same way they do when around NT children. They have their own " communication " (and level of comfort) whether NT people may realize it or not. I doubt there are studies out there about this specific point alone but reading blogs from adults with Asperger's has only made me be more certain of this. I guess there will be no better and more reliable source than asking my own son.
