Hi this is a, I was so happy to hear from so many out there who

have been through the same situation that I am facing. I wanted to

try to answer some of the questions that many of you had. I had

surgery February 23,2000. When I had the surgery I weighted 254 now

down to 189. I had the silastic ring vertical banded gastric by-pass

proceedure. I took a pregnancy test on Friday June 16 which instantly

showed possitive. I talked to the nurse yesterday at my surgeons

office and she assured me that everything would be fine I would just

have to make sure to take in more protein. I also called and made an

appointment with my ob-gyn yesterday and talked with one of the

nurses there, she spoke with the doctor and he called me in a

prescription for prenatal vitiamins because I cant get in to see him

until July 18. I am approximately 8 weeks pregnant.At first I was

very frightened because I didnt know what kind of effect the surgery

would have on the baby but now after you all have assured me and also

the nurses I am feeling so much better and I am excited about it. I

have a little boy who is two and a half and I was wanting another

baby. I am 35 years old and I knew I didnt need to wait too much

longer but I also wanted to wait until a year after surgery but now

that it is done I am very happy. Thank you all for all of your

support, I feel like I have made a lot of new friends and I look

forward to talking to you in the coming months.
