Guest guest
Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a great holiday season. I have a couple questions. Last week I slipped in the ice carrying Christmas presents and hit my head on the door frame of our house. My symptoms got immediately worse and have stayed that way. I hit my head really hard. I have a big line bruise down the side of my face. A couple of weeks before that, I blacked out at work while I was lacing a movie(bent over) and hit my head on the projector. I had a little bit of a black eye from that. Two days later I got my hair caught in the motor of a projector and I felt like I had whiplash. I don't tend to complain or take things out of proportion. I downplay most of the symptoms I have. I'm just kind of concerned about whether or not I need new MRI's or if anything could have changed from hitting my head a few times or what. I couldn't get into Dr Frim but for some reason Dr. at University of Chicago had a cancellation and he saw me the day after I hit my head. He saw my bruised face but didn't think anyhting of it. He was more concerned about my B-12 and Thyroid and thought I might not even be having symptoms from my Chiari. He said it wasn't a " Full-Blooded " Chiari. I have had 5 doctors tell me it needed to be decompressed and he is the first to say any different. This morning I woke up and couldn't move my neck. All of my pain is on the same side. I've always had symptoms mostly on the left side and that is where I'm stiff. Has anyone else had this happen after hitting their head? Can you worsen your herniation or develop a syrinx from it? I didn't go to the hospital because they're morons in my little town. I always leave with the " Compazine/Benadryl Cocktail " they give people for headaches when I go. After I sleep it off, I wish I hadn't gone because I feel worse. I don't even have a GP because the last 3 GP's I've been to have been afraid to see me since I have Chiari. All I have is Dr Frim and my OB/GYN. What should I do? I feel so terrible! I have called in 3 times since I fell and that's more than the past 3 years! Thanks everyone!
