osteopenia, cabbage, and yogurt

Hi guys,

I was recently diagnosed with osteopenia as per a bone density exam. I am 34,

so the

thought of osteoporosis is a little daunting for me. Immediately I began to

read about it

and how it is treated holistically, because I really do not want to add a pill

to my list. One

of the biggest causes of osteopenia, according to many NP sites, is a low blood

pH. I have

had low pH before and my NP at the time had me on some crushed coral 2 times a

day to

help balance me out so that my bones wouldn't be harmed. Anyhow, the theory is

when

your blood pH is low (acidic), calcium is pulled out of your bones and teeth to

help

neutralize it.

Problem: the foods I do really well with...meats, yogurt, cheese, cooked and

steamed

veggies all burn to an acidic ash, decreasing the pH of my blood which

perpetuates the

bone loss (this is my personal belief) The foods I NEED to eat that would burn

to a

alkaline ash are things I don't tolerate very well, things like raw veggies and

fruit.

Homemade solution for the time being:

I am making a smoothie in my vitamix everyday that has both fruit and veggies,

namely

very ripe bananas, strawberries, spinach and red cabbage. After blending it, I

add my

yogurt and swirl on low speed to not disrupt the good bugs as much.

QUESTION: Does the cabbage kill the good bugs like garlic or onion would?

I ask because this seems to be working for me. I have been testing my pH and it

is usually

at neutral or a tiny bit alkaline. So, if cabbage kills my good bugs, I want to

find a

different raw veggie to blend. Sorry this is kind of long...
