Is anyone else really sensitive to how fat people are portrayed on tv shows? Some shows are just rude. I was watching My Name is Earl on Thursday night and Joy was listing off where a snitch was in the heirachy of people. "First there's regular people, then fat people, then Al Queda and terrorists, then snitches." There were more groups of people too but I don't remember them all. Then her husband said "When did you move fat people above AlQueda and terrorists?" Her reply was "I saw this special on thyroid disorder and it broke my heart."

Saying that fat people are worse than terrorists?? I was stunned. I know they are just trying to be funny but how in any way is that funny?

It isn't funny. Yesterday, I stumbled across a website called myfatspouse, if you read it, you will be sickened.

It's all even weirder when you remember that, what, 60% of Americans are categorized as obese???? (and the other 39% are children, leaving about 1% of adult Americans being normal weight ;) (<- made up statistics, don't quote me!)

and of the 60% overweight, probably less than 1% aren't bothered by it. so that's a lot of offended people out there...

or those whose self-esteemed is so demolished by their struggle with weight that they figure they deserve the judgement...
