Guest guest
Hi all, I was dx. with psuedo tumor cerebri in 1988. In 1991 the doctors found Chiari and hydrocephalus. At that point I was told that I probably did not have psuedo tumor. Now I am told I could possibly have psuedo tumor. The doctors are not willing to do a lumbar puncture due to the VP shunt. They state it could cause problems with the shunt. I was told that they could do a reading through the shunt but do not want to do that because I have had to have 5 shunt revisions since 1992. I was also told that the brain clot that developed on my brain stem after my second decompression was a complication of having a VP shunt. Anyone have any input on this? Any information would be appreciated. Hope everyone is painfree today. Debi chiari, hydrocephalus, NMH, PTC?, VP shunt, 5 shunt revisions, 2 decompressions (1992 & 2000), is old Arnold rearing his ugly head or is it really PTC?????
