Guest guest
Help me out here... Meg, what's your perspective on the "forest"?? A "healthy'" life just isn't clicking with me. I need to get a hold of the "forest" view of this because I am one of those people who gets distracted by the tress. Maybe if you share with me a bit about how you see the bigger picture I can better grasp it for myself. I am listening.... thanks. Panic about making a life changing decision, feeling your feelings, possibly for the first time that may prompt you to make alterations within your life, family and friends, facing realities that you have supressed since childhood, yes, ok, I can understand panic about these things because it is scary. But panicking about a little weight gain, just doesn't seem like you guys are seeing the bigger picture. Or maybe, you are seeing the bigger picture and consolidating these scary things into "weight gain" to avoid starting the journey. Not suprisingly, it is difficult to see the forest for the trees, when it is the trees that we've been so fixated on for so long.JMO,:)MegIE Since Feb '
Guest guest
Hey Kathy~ Well, basically, the " trees " are the number of the scale, counting calories, counting carbs, counting points, restricting, binging, guilty feelings, worrying about your weight, worrying about what you eat, etc... in other words, all the things that " diet mentality " has you worry about are just the trees, the details. When you step back from the trees and examine the forest, you can find out the bigger picture. What is(are) the source(s) of the issue(s) that you just can't " see " when you are so diligently examining the details. You can't fix a broken arm with band-aids...
