Guest guest
Can you use french cream in coffee? -Andy Sent from my Blackberry, please excuse any typos Re: weak coffee I make diluted coffe every morning. I use a cone shaped filter and paper liners, set that on my mug and measure out two mugs of water to one measure of coffee and pour boiling water over. I add vanilla and saccahrin. That is my limit for the day since we do not use " decaf " on this diet. > is weak coffee considered to be something advanced? > i have been on the diet 3 months. > > i am wondering what the ratio would be > if i made a big pot of coffee > water to coffee? > > Carol F. Guest guest
Andy, You can use a little real cream that has no additives and add a few drops of lacteeze. I don't know where to get that as I am in Canada. > Can you use french cream in coffee? > All the best, Carol
Guest guest
I wouldn't try this if you were new to the diet. I think some healing should take place first. You can also use cream that is legal for French cream that has been treated with lactaid or lacteeze drops and allowed to stand for at least 24 hours (with several shakings). You could also make deluxe coffees with almond milk or hazelnut milk and legal sweeteners. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Can't help you with coffee -- I don't drink it, and my husband's allergic to it. The one thing to keep in mind is that caffeine in beverages can increase urgency. We don't use de-caff. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

If you're talking about the tablets that you take with or after you've eaten something with lactose, no, those aren't valid. Elaine was adamant about using the drops, and allowing the cream to stand (in the refrigerator) for at least 24 hours, shaking it occasionally to be sure it was completely mixed. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
I'm probably a complete idiot for not understanding and I am sorry but it is important for me to get clarification since I don't want to get sick. I know I know I'm stupid. The lacteez drops: I take a couple of drops and put it in cream (heavy cream?) and let it stant in fridge for 24 hours during which I shake every now and again? Or I make yogurt out of it and put the lacteez in it and let that stand and shake it? Which sounds odd to me. Because that wouldn't be liquidy. But certain things about this diet are odd to me anyway plus I don't understand too much about microbiology so like the ins and outs kind of go right past me. I'm not saying I need a background in microbiology to make a cup of coffee. Sheesh I'm driving myself crazy! With all this said I'll probably drink the coffee black anyway. Always drank black coffee but I would drink a cappacino from time to time. Thanks, Jodi > >Only the lacteez drops? Guest guest
Hi I love this forum but I was just wondering if this will ever become one long message so you don't have so many individual email's to close ,delete, and open, its harder to get the gist of the questions that way it hops around alot. However the info you get is life saving believe me. thanks Suzanne Re: Re: weak coffeeTo: BTVC-SCD > At 06:27 AM 1/6/2008, you wrote:> >Only the lacteez drops? Guest guest
Hi Jodi,New things take some time to learn. Take a deep breath and no insulting yourself for having questions! :-)Here's what I do for my morning coffee: 1. Buy some heavy cream without additives (no fillers or thickeners etc.)2. Put a few drops Lacteeze into the cream 3. Return cream to fridge and let stand for a while (24hrs) 3a. Shake the cream lightly a couple times in those 24 hours so as to be sure the Lacteeze mixes in well.4. Use it in weak coffee. Not too much of it. Not too often.Best, Nina in MA----- Original Message ---- I'm probably a complete idiot for not understanding and I am sorry but it is important for me to get clarification since I don't want to get sick.
