Guest guest
I'm not really sure myself, but my Medical Abbreviations & Eponyms by Sheila B. Sloane has one of the meanings for CBV as being corrected blood volume, which could go with good cardiac " output " maybe? ----Original Message Follows---- To: " nmtc " <nmtc > Subject: Pulmonary abbrev. questions Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 03:00:00 -0800 Please don't laugh at my stupidity here, but these always stump me. I have the worst time hearing the abbreviations used in pulmonary exams with regard to pressure supports, etc. What am I hearing here? " His pulses remain in the 50s-60s and he is saturating 94%. His pulmonary artery data reveals a **CBV??** and good cardiac (blank line, he dropped the handheld!) of approximately 30. He remains on mechanical ventilation, but has been undergoing pressure support trial with good **tidal??** volumes and good respiratory mechanics. " Another one that gets me is EDVI or EDBI?? I know I should have known these, but I don't do these types of reports (trauma progress notes) very often at all and never run into this lingo with my regular work types. If someone could give me the correct abbreviations and what they are, I am going to write them in my abbreviation book and put them in my expander, dangit! TIA!
