Still Using Toxic Dyes Left Out of U.K. Goods

In a never ending pursuit for

profit, American companies like Kellog, Kraft and General Mills continue to

use dangerous food dyes despite reports linking the chemicals to some types

of cancer and causing childhood problems like hyperactivity, bedwetting,

and more. EU regulators require foods containing chemical food dyes to

carry a warning label. Since that would deter customers, the US food giants

gave into the demands of proven safety in Europe and eliminated the

chemical dyes from their products sold overseas, replacing them with

natural food dyes made from plants. These companies find it too hard to

part with the half-penny per box profit they generate by keeping the dyes

in the US food supply and protect consumers and children by using plant

based dyes like those sold in the UK.

United States food giants have

the blessing of our government's administration to use the chemicals, as

the FDA gives dyes a GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status. The FDA

even words the status loosely, "generally" recognized as safe; that word

indicates a lack of certainty on the matter since the dyes have never

actually been proven safe. This green light from the FDA is why consumers'

intake of food dyes have increased five times in the last 30 years.

Meltdown Now Means Detrimental Health Effects Worldwide

Immediately after the initial

wake of the recent tragic events in Japan, reports of nuclear meltdowns

surfaced but the damaging effects were downplayed by the Japanese

government. Attempts to cool the reactors with seawater have failed and

some sources pinpoint the loss of electricity due to the earthquake as the

cause of the meltdown, because of the loss of cooling power for the

reactors. Japanese news reports stated radioactivity escape was unlikely

and thought that radioactivity levels might be twice the level of what

Japan considers safe. The third reactor has just exploded and three are in

meltdown. But even prior to Saturday's explosion there were media reports

of radiations levels 1000 higher than the permissible level! Because of

alternative reports, the Japanese government is admitting more.

Now for the grim truth:

Radioactive material is leaking and escaping into the air, hundreds of

thousands have already been evacuated. This disaster now effects us all as

this radioactive plume "will eventually travel thousands of miles towards

Canada and the United States and then circulating the planet."

Lawmaker Wants To Make Farm Photos Illegal

Out of sight, out of mind-

right? Well that's what Big Ag companies in Florida are hoping for. SB 1246

introduced on the 8th by Sen. Jim Norman, R-Tampa would make it a

first-degree felony to photograph a farm without consent. This is the sort

of legislation that will turn down the exposure on factory farms, the likes

of which have been infiltrated by animal activists armed with hidden

cameras, ready to show the world the ugly truth behind the scenes.

The treatment of animals and

use of chemicals on these farms is certainly nothing to be proud of and it

is the intent of the industry to keep these practices hidden from the

public. In 2008 Florida had 47,500 commercial farms, last year there were

about 130 certified organic producers, including both crop and livestock.

That shockingly low number of organic farms means that Big Ag gets its way

when it comes to controlling who monitors them. The FDA and the USDA

already back Big Ag and now the American people will be shut out from
