Guest guest
today isn't a good day for me. i've always prided myself on finding humor in things but my visit to the nsg yesterday has left me very disgusted, confused and hopeless. i was so hopeful that he could tell me something concrete. basically he said to forget about the chiari that it's mild and it's not causing my problems. he seems to think that my symptoms are coming from where i fell and knocked myself out in april and that it's post concussion syndrome. let's not forget that the reason i fell was due to severe weakness in my legs. he didn't listen to anything i said to him. i told him what the audiologist found ie, the nystagmus, hearing loss, brainstem dysfunction, the tinnitus. he said he doesn't know what he found but it doesn't have anything to do with the chiari. yeah right. i have numbness and weakness in my left arm and hand. he wanted to know how i slept on my arm maybe i had pinched a nerve. give me a break. he said that he wants to do an EMG/NCS on that arm because it is weak. those are so much fun being shocked and poked with needles. i asked him about the headaches i get with laughing, coughing, sneezing, and any other type of straining he said well that could be the chiari. but have surgery i don't think so. considering i'm walking with a cane and haven't worked since april. i also applied for disability on tuesday. that's great for a 31 year old mother of 2 small children. i thought i could work until retirement. my husband was glad he didn't go. he said we probably would have ended up in jail after he finished with the doctor. my mother went with me and she was getting close to the boiling point. sorry i went on and on. i know all of you will understand my frustration. i guess i need to have the worse chiari malformation he's ever seen to be taken seriously. fighting a headache and neckpain today. tolerance for it is low today due to my visit yesterday. take care everyone. tina in nc concussion and slept on arm wrong told to forget about acm1
Guest guest
I was told that mine was mild too (only 10mm). He had seen the herniation up to T-2 I think it was. I am going to see Dr Milhorat on Sept 21st in New York. Perhaps a second opinion is in order. Take Care- in Texas PS Remember it does not take a doctor to let you know you feel like crap most of the time. =) disappointing visit to the nsg today isn't a good day for me. i've always prided myself on finding humor in things but my visit to the nsg yesterday has left me very disgusted, confused and hopeless. i was so hopeful that he could tell me something concrete. basically he said to forget about the chiari that it's mild and it's not causing my problems. he seems to think that my symptoms are coming from where i fell and knocked myself out in april and that it's post concussion syndrome. let's not forget that the reason i fell was due to severe weakness in my legs. he didn't listen to anything i said to him. i told him what the audiologist found ie, the nystagmus, hearing loss, brainstem dysfunction, the tinnitus. he said he doesn't know what he found but it doesn't have anything to do with the chiari. yeah right. i have numbness and weakness in my left arm and hand. he wanted to know how i slept on my arm maybe i had pinched a nerve. give me a break. he said that he wants to do an EMG/NCS on that arm because it is weak. those are so much fun being shocked and poked with needles. i asked him about the headaches i get with laughing, coughing, sneezing, and any other type of straining he said well that could be the chiari. but have surgery i don't think so. considering i'm walking with a cane and haven't worked since april. i also applied for disability on tuesday. that's great for a 31 year old mother of 2 small children. i thought i could work until retirement. my husband was glad he didn't go. he said we probably would have ended up in jail after he finished with the doctor. my mother went with me and she was getting close to the boiling point. sorry i went on and on. i know all of you will understand my frustration. i guess i need to have the worse chiari malformation he's ever seen to be taken seriously. fighting a headache and neckpain today. tolerance for it is low today due to my visit yesterday. take care everyone. tina in nc concussion and slept on arm wrong told to forget about acm1 Help section: /help/ NOTE: NCC refers to posts with No Chiari Content Unsubscribe Yourself: chiari-unsubscribeegroups WACMA Home: www.pressenter.com/~wacma WACMA List: www.eGroups.com/group/chiari
