Guest guest
Deborah, This topic was addressed last week. Scroll back to message #17593, posted on September 9th and follow the thread. The subject is " taboo topic " . If you measure success only by a number on a scale, there are probably other websites that offer more success stories than you will find here. Of course, these people may not be as likely to post about the fact that they fell off the diet a few weeks or months later and gained all the weight back and then some. But if you measure success in broader terms, such as learning how to love yourself and trust yourself for the first time, and becoming empowered and sticking up for yourself, and how to let go of your perfectionism and accept yourself and others as they are, and how to stop using food to cope with your emotions, and how to stop listening to the food police and start enjoying life NOW, then you will find more success stories here each day than you will have time to read. Guest guest
Thanks for your replies everyone. I hear what you're saying and appreciate you taking the time to say it. I got my IE book out and read some again last night. I realize that I'm just not at the point to be worrying about that right now. I still have some issues with making peace with food, although I'm doing much better with that. My BIGGEST obstacle is with knowing when to stop, so that's where I need to put my focus right now and let the rest fall into place on its own. Thanks again, Deborah
Guest guest
Deborah, Focusing on what's most key at this point in your process is an awesome next step...and the rest will fall into place.
