Guest guest
I'd fight them on this. How ridiculous. Banning backpacks and food from home? I have never heard of this before, and I would definitely NOT trust them to make my child's food. They will in all honesty not be as careful as you are. Don't let this issue go. There must be many children at the school with allergies, of whatever nature, and they have obviously not thought this out well at all. Let us know what happens, it could help any of us prepare in case our respective school districts decide to do the same...... Jeri
Guest guest
I sure wouldnt trust a school to prepare my sons food. I have found that most people dont 1) fully understand the diet,2) school personel think you are crazy when you explain what the food does to them. My sons speech therapist(when he was in public school he is no longer) one day couldnt figure out why my son was struggling to use one word responses when she knew days prior he was saying small sentences.I explained he had gotten 4 teddy grahams. If she hadnt witnessed the regression herself I know she wouldnt have believed that food could do such a thing. I would fight them to bring my own food or find another school. Guest guest
Does this child have an IEP? If so, put it in the IEP that the child is to eat ONLY foods provided by, or preapproved by, his parents. Lorilyn
