Guest guest
Eileen wrote:"Do many here have sinus issues too??....Mine seem to be more frequent"----------------------Hi Eileen,My sinus discomfort (congestion, blockage, pain) correlates strongly with my gut health and happiness. After being on SCD for a while, I noticed that my congestion and dryness improved markedly, and from time to time would be almost completely gone! It seems to return (with a vengeance) when I am having a yeast flare-up. In fact, I can reliably bring on sinus discomfort by ingesting sweet foods (including honey, fruit, squash, carrots), vinegar, or by simply eating too late at night. When the yeasties flare, I get sinus trouble, increased heartburn, and a dry mouth and coated tongue. All very unpleasant. When the yeasties abate, everything (mouth, ears, sinuses) all improve. As long as I stay within reasonable limits for sweet foods, and remain SCD-legal, my sinus issues continue to resolve slowly. Finally, I will say that they got worse before they got better. The first few weeks on SCD produced more, not less, sinus discomfort and congestion. Maybe that was attributable to die-off. Best to you, Nina in MA Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
Have you heard of a product Xlear (is pronounced Clear)? It is a nasal spray with grapefruit seed extract and will kill yeast on the sinuses. It is super effective. Runs for about $15 a spray bottle and you can find it at Whole Foods or any good health food store.
