Guest guest
Lorraine, I am another person who has UC. I also have chemical senstivities and sensitivities to pollens, molds, etc that affect whether I bleed or not. Also, I have developed some sensitivities to a few legal foods.......... Right now tree pollens are really high where I live in north Texas and I have ben bleeding again even though I am SCD for three years. I hope that you are not like me.......however, I was shocked to learn that tree pollens do this to me because I do not get typical allergy symptoms from pollen......just the UC symptoms. So there could be other triggers...........and perhaps looking for them could be an answer. I follow pollen levels on pollen.com If that helps. Also, I would rotate my foods for a bit and watch for a pattern. A food stays in your body for four days. If you remove it for about that amount of time and then re-eat it you can sometimes experience symptoms that you are otherwise masked to. Hope something here can help. If you have an further questions please contact me offlist since this is approaching or is offtopic. Michele > > Hi All, > > It's been awhile since I posted. I was diagnosed with UC in 2001. I was doing very well for about 2 years, not having a problem with any legal foods. However, at the beginning of this month, I started with the bright red B again, no D, yet. The doctor will be starting me on Canasa suppositories today. I am hoping they work, because I don't want stereoids. Has anyone with UC experienced this before? I have been on the diet since 2001 and have just recently cut back on raw fruit and vegetables and a few other things, to see if my system will heal. I hope it works. I think I just needed to vent and to have some support. Thanks for listening. > > Lorraine >
Guest guest
I also have UC and have been having very minor problems since June. I have been on SCD for about 5 and half years. Symptom-free for several years, so it has been very frustrating to have to deal with even minor symptoms. It has been a very stressfull year and I think that maybe a contributing factor plus in June I ended up with a SCD illegal substance in my food. Resteraunt lied and said they had not prepared something with sugar when in fact they had. Unlike some other SCDers I have never been able to come off medication completely. However, I was able to reduce the dosage considerably to once a day versus 3 times a day. Now however the dosage is back up and like you I am also on the Canasa supp. So long story short I feel your pain and know how frustrating it is. You get so used to being well that any set back is disheartening. UC 12.5 years SCD 5.5 years A > > > > Hi All, > > > > It's been awhile since I posted.
