Guest guest
I checked out the list of ingredients in the vitamins listed at Lucy's and I am 99.9 % sure that I would not tolerate any of them. :-( I don't tolerate any of the forms of vitamin C listed which are in the multi and B and I don't tolerate the calcium. Once in awhile I took tapioca C or beet C but I've had no C since SCD. I've not been able to take a multi for many, many years. I wonder what they put in the SCD or Freeda vitamins to make them a tablet. I'm curious to see that the selenium is made from kelp. Somehow I got the idea that all seaweeds are illegal. I sure miss them. I used to use Gomasio (sesame seeds and sea vegetables). I still take my B capsules and I think it would be wrong for me not to do so, unless there really is a good one that I tolerate. Mine has no dairy, gluten, soy or artificial colours. But does have microcrysalline cellulose, magnesium stearate (veg), silicon dioxide. If it's not okay to take any kind of capsules, then I could just pour the ingredients on food or in water. I already do that with my thyroid capsules. I've had to figure out my own supplements with years of experience, so I guess I'm at a standstill when it comes to supplements. As much as possible I use sublingual and injections. It is extremely important for me not to go off everything. Maybe some day I'll be able to try the legal supplements, or find something that is legal. Hi Jodi,It's not legal. This is what I found,---------Carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) is a modified cellulose gum (cellulose is also known as plant fiber). In foods, it is used as a stabilizer, thickener, film former, suspending agent and extender Applications include ice cream, dressings, pies, sauces, and puddings.......http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/wholebody/ingredients/carboxymethyl.html---------Cellulose gum is illegal. You may try Freeda vitamins. They make an SCD legal multi-vitamin, B complex with C and zinc and a calcium supplement. Their website is, http://www.freedavitamins.com/ It doesn't list the ingredients though. You may have to call them to find out. Lucy's Kitchen Shop, http://www.lucyskitchenshop.com/freedavitamins.html carries their multi, B complex and the calcium supplement. Guest guest
Hello again,The ingredients you listed as being in your B vitamins are all legal supplement ingredients. If that's all it has in it, it's fine and there is no need to worry or switch to a different one.As far as the selenium being from kelp...I cannot answer that question but you are correct about seaweed being illegal. Maybe it has something to do with the process by which they process the kelp. I will look into it and try to get an answer for you.Take care,Kim H. Re: legal vitamin c? verify ingredients!
