Guest guest
well I have discovered that during PMS and my cycle I get more hungry so I try to go with the flow as it were I still need to work on not beating myself up about it but that is also getting better. Eva What is anyone's experience with IE and PMS? Yesterday I was bloated and constipated and I naturally (still ingrained in diet mentality ) immediatley looked to what I was eating to see if it was culprit and started looking to blame myself. Then I realized it might have been pms.Sure enough, I looked at my calendar and my period is due in about a week. I researched pms and discovered that constipation is a symptom! That just adds to the bloating feeling. That's the cool thing about ie. I learn more about my body besides eating. Now I know not to be mad at myself but accept that my body goes through processes that I cannot control irregardless of how "good" or "bad" I eat. Guest guest
I was wondering the same thing. I was hungry all. day. long. yesterday, but I looked to see that I'm in prime PMS time as well. I remember reading that our bodies burn an average of 300 calories more per day during our luteal phases, so I'm guessing that's what's going on. This will be my first go round with PMS and IE as well! We shall see... Guest guest
I find that I crave starchy carb comfort food when I'm PMS-sy. I like mac and cheese, chicken and noodles, breads and that kind of stuff. When I was dieting, I would usually do the deny/eat around it/eat it anyway thing because those foods were too " pointy " (I'm sure some of you know what I mean there!!). Pretty much the only thing that has changed is I only eat what I want and I don't beat myself up for wanting it. I still might eat it mindlessly or past the point of satisfaction, but I'm working on it.
Guest guest
I find myself craving all sorts of things, and often one of them is meat. Last weekend I tried eating vegetarian for a day and had a vegan dinner that I thought was pretty balanced... but IE doesn't lie. The next day I started my cycle and I felt completely anemic to the point of being dizzy and loopy while shopping for groceries. Unless and until I learn how to supplement it properly, the day before my period is *not* going to be a vegan day.
