Guest guest
I'm one of those who mainly lurk but is also over a year out (open proximal RNY 2/24/99). I was wondering if those 8 you identified are subbing or " unsnubbing " ? Also, I think we should refer to the " main list " as the original list...since most of us know about the confusion there. , I'm not trying to critique what you had to say only that I got caught up in the main list /original list thing recently. All this talk about " SLD " and " stretching of the pouch " has me nervous. About 8-9 months out, I had severe pain in the lower abdomen and was told I had gastritis and given Tagamet vs Prilosec for a week or two to see if it would go away and thankfully it did. Now I'm thinking maybe I have SLD and it doesn't always present itself as hurting all the time. Has anyone ever experienced this? Every time I read about some new ailment, I think.. could I have that? So bear with me... I have been enlightened by this list especially in relation to vitamins, minerals, and other post-op health needs and for that I thank all those who are active and been involved it is great that us " lurkers " can learn from all you know. I have a new question, but am, kind of embarrassed to ask...but hey we are all grown-ups here (aren't we). OK, here goes... My BMs are always " floaters " and medium " loose " ...if that makes any sense...I have attributed this to malabsorbtion...maybe it is just that I eat so much less than I use to. Recognizing that the elimination process is certainly one of the major (if not the most) keys to good health...I wanted to get some feedback on this. Mainly, I want to know if this is common for open RNY or just depends on the person. I worry that this aspect of WLS might mask symptoms of other illness. My PCP referred me for surgery but doesn't know much about it and I really don't have good access to my surgeon so I thought maybe we could discuss some of this here. Your probably all saying, " God woman, would you please go back to lurk mode! " Thanks and take care, Louise In a message dated 7/16/00 7:20:11 AM Pacific Daylight Time, dbandas@... writes: > Me and my co-moderator Vicki get notices when people sub or " un-snub " to the > list. Guest guest
Tracey, I still have my gallbladder so maybe it is starting to act up, who knows at this point but I have been getting some unusual pain of late. I think gallbladder pain focuses on your side doesn't it? I'm also going to really put myself into check about overeating. I have done this on occasion and felt very uncomfortable...I hope I'm not stretching my pouch. Now at 17 months out, I'm beginning to deal with a lot of new? issues. I think they may be old issues that are resurfacing and I am trying to deal with stress in my old way (overeating). Up until now, this hasn't really seemed like a problem but it has begun to rear it's ugly head. I would love to lose another 25 pounds but have been at a stalemate for a few months. Thanks for your feedback. I would end up crying I'd be in such pain! As for the eating thing and issues and fear (false evidence appearing real), as always I suggest the book, " The Seven Secrets OF Slim People. " It has done for me and my life what surgery couldn't. ) Vicki
