Lakanto is not legal. According to this site

it has erythritol in it, a sugar alcohol, which WE can't digest, but the

bad bugs in our guts will have a field day on.

This is also (apart from other reasons) why we have to be very careful of

stevia products. Many of them also have erythrotol in them, making them

illegal, even if Elaine didn't have reservations about the stevia. (She

didn't like stevia for adults, but allowed that children might have small

amounts if they absolutely could not have honey or saccharin.)
