Guest guest
Thanks, Kim, for the list of legal probiotics. I will likely search here in Canada first, because I will need to test and also I'm not sure about the custom issues beween US and Canada. Legality? Hi Misty,I googled dicalcium phosphate and didn't come up with much so I don't know if it's legal or not. I think it probably is. It looks like it's used as a calcium supplement, among other things. I did want to let you know that Lucy's Kitchen Shop has a legal Acidophilus supplement, http://www.lucyskitchenshop.com/acidophilus.htmlAlso, Kirkman makes a legal one, http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/acidophilus/Lacto_Acid316_120.htmlAnd finally, GI Pro Health has a legal one, http://www.giprohealth.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Store_Code=GIProHealth & Product_Code=Scdophilus & Category_Code=probioticsSorry I couldn't be more helpful.Best wishes,Kim H.husband, , CD 1999SCD 2002

Guest guest
Does anyone know if the 3 products listed below available in any stores? Or do you have to order them online? I'd like to get some, but don't want to wait for them in the mail! Guest guest
Thanks so much, Kim. I had not checked Lucy's yet. There is much for me to learn! I checked and I have the Yogourmet freeze-dried yogurt starter in my refrigerator! I bought it when I was trying to figure out how to make rice yogurt--before SCD. So I guess I have the right starter, for when I try making yogurt. I doubt I should start with dairy or even goat's milk for yogurt. Maybe I will try nut milk. I'm having BM problems. When I started the diet, and during the first week on the diet, my stools were great. Now they are messed up this week. Mostly thin, sometimes floating, and I sometimes have pain. I guess that means I'm having die-off and maybe also need to eat less variety of foods. However, I get extremely toxic fast, which I was the first week. This week I haven't been feeling so toxic (nausea, dizziness, flu-like). I would love to be able to eat yogurt. But maybe I can find the acidophilus capsules near me. However, BC isn't listed. Maybe I'll order from Lucy's. But it looks to me as if they are dairy-based. I take it that the meals are not legal. :-) Louise -----Original Message-----From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ]On Behalf Of Kim HescheSent: Saturday, March 15, 2008 1:46 PMTo: BTVC-SCD Subject: Re: Rexall Ultimate Probiotic Formula Acidophilus... Guest guest
I don't think you'll find the Kirkman or GI Pro Health in the store. If you're in Canada, you may be able to find the Lyosan. I'd check my local health food stores. You may be able to find a legal one locally. I'd print out the list of legal/illegal supplement ingredients and take it with me. http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/supplements.htmTake care,Kim H.husband, , CD 1999SCD 2002----- Original Message ----To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Saturday, March 15, 2008 3:04:41 PMSubject: Re: Rexall Ultimate Probiotic Formula Acidophilus... Guest guest
Louise,There are a couple different varieties of the Yogourmet starter. Make sure you have the one that does not contain bifidus. I would email Lyosan and find out if there is somewhere near you that you can buy the acidophilus capsules. They are dairy based though. The non-dairy based ones that I know of are the ones from GI Pro Health and Kirkman. And I believe both do ship to Canada.Hope you feel better soon,Kim H. Guest guest
Kim, there is no bifidus in the Yogourtmet starter, so I guess I have the right one, if I get up the courage to try it. I would dearly love to be able to eat yogurt, but it's the dairy that scares me. But you never know.... :-) Thanks for suggestions about the acidophilus capsules. and for all the encouragement...I appreciate it. Guest guest
That's good that you have the right one. If you do decide to try it, start with a very small amount....maybe a quarter of a teaspoon or less and see how you do. If all is well, gradually increase it.And you're very welcome.Best wishes,Kim H. RE: Rexall Ultimate Probiotic Formula Acidophilus... Legality?
