Hi :

I completely understand your fears about prednisone. When I first

started having symptoms my rheumatologist put me on a low dose of

Prednisone for a few weeks. Prednisone works very well on inflammation,

especially the inflammation from arthritis. He said if I responded, it

would be a good indication that I had Rheumatoid Arthritis. I did

reluctantly go on the Prednisone, and I must say that I did not

experience any side effects. If your doctor is prescribing a low dose,

it might be helpful to try it and see what happens. It was helpful to my

doctor in eliminating certain illnesses from a long list of possible

contenders.
