Guest guest
Hey guys, I lifted this from my blog because I am too lazy to type it out again. xoxo, R Hey guys! Happy Thursday! Woo Woo. Almost Friday! So I am in a bloggy mood today about one of my oldest (and most reliable excuses, at least since I hit puberty hahah) to eat: PMS So with IE, it's all about listening to your body. One day last week, i woke up absolutley bloated, constipated, cranky and hungry. And wanting chocolate and salt. I immediately berate myself because I think: 1. It must be my fault that I am bloated and constipated and I begin to interrogate myself on what I ate the day before. 2. I hate myself for feeling hungry and wanting bad foods. 3. I am in a bad mood. A Very Bad Mood. Oh but wait, I took a deep breath, and realized that yup my period was only 7-10 days away. PMS time to the max! Now, we all know what PMS means, right ladies? It means that since we are on PMS, it is our god given FREE PASS to eat the entire week before our periods because we deserve to, given the pain and suffering our monthly friend bestows on us. It means that stuffing ourselves and going for broke (both calorically and financially as we run to the store to buy everything that we had forbidden ourselves for the weeks before). So I was confronted with this: How the hell was I going to do IE while PMSing, especially since in the past PMS cravings have sent my diet to hell in a handbasket…err…basket of fries and chicken strips??? Well, I just decided I was going to have to liseten to my body each and every step of the way. I was verrry scarred and had doubts about it the whole time though. So I listened, and guess what I found out: I only had immense cravings for salty, chocolatey foods for one days in the midst of this PMS period (I'm still in it). I was also only bloated and constipated one day for this time frame. I have had breast soreneess on other days, headaches and all the other good stuff that goes along with PMS, but instead of letting the first symptom of PMS be my trigger to overeat, I was shocked to see thant ACTUAL hunger and cravings were a small part of the PMS spectrum. I suspect that the increase in " hunger " I used to feel during PMS was really a desire for comfort, anxiety and irritably which led to stress eating, which led me to thinking that my hunger increased the ENTIRE TIME during PMS. Has my hunger increased during PMS? Yes. Have I eaten more duing this round of PMS then I have the rest of the month? Yes. It's just now, I am trying to not use PMS as another all excuse free pass to eat whatever the hell I want. Happy almost Friday everybody! le
