Guest guest
Hi, this is Nat with a new email... I am having such a hard time right now, I had to wean off all my depression and anxiety medications in 6 days due to a metabolic problem - and since then, I just want to eat starch, nothing else, nothing else seems to do the job, to satisfied me. Bad timing, I just learned that my son had sensory integration disorder, totally curable thing but just more therapy, appointements, and obligations. I am o.k, I feel what I have to feel, but afraid of nutritional deficiencies - and yes, weight gain! do I wish I could weight myself right now - how does a diet consisting of only white starchy food can sustain a person, keep a person healthy? I am wondering if ie is a good idea now, I think I am affected a lot by my food choices. I feel so hungry all the time. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
First I am sorry to hear that you are being challenged by so much at one time. That type of stress alone can cause one to seek comfort in food. But you have needed to add on medication changes as well as greater concern and efforts for your son too. What a 'package' to deal with! I'm no dietitian, but it seems to me that 'starchy' foods (carbs) digest into blood sugar faster so can give you a 'lift' of sorts? Perhaps that is why you are drawn to them? I know when I feel 'down' I usually head for the sweets - chocolates (candies or cookies) or soda pop that type of thing. The more of those I eat, the more they whip lash into cycle that is self driven. As to whether or not IE will work for you, one thing I hope you also ask yourself is whether or not dieting will produce BETTER results? So many of the members here have gone to IE because they have found that dieting doesn't do the right thing for them in the long run. In fact too many of us have found that dieting is one pound lost then 2 pounds gained!! Have you really eaten all that much of starchy foods? Could this be a temporary set back due to stresses? I'm wondering if your sense of satisfaction is more 'comfort' driven than biological body feedback? I hope you can 'sit' with yourself for a few minutes and discover what it is that YOU need. I know that if you honor that, you will be doing the right thing for yourself. (even if its dieting - which many have tried to make sure for themselves) BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hi, this is Nat with a new email... > I am having such a hard time right now, I had to wean off all my > depression and anxiety medications in 6 days due to a metabolic > problem - and since then, I just want to eat starch, nothing else, > nothing else seems to do the job, to satisfied me.
