Hi all! I'm still not all the way through the book, and I know I have

miles to go, but I'm starting to notice some changes in how I approach

food, and I'm excited. I'm trying to be very mindful about what I

want to eat and really listen to my body. I'm also trying to make a

very conscious effort to taste and take pleasure in my food. Well,

yesterday I think I had proof that I'm really fine-tuning my taste

buds. My husband brought home some sort of dried fruit trail mix, and

it sounded yummy after our workout, so I sampled some. I usually like

the stuff, but oh was it ever too sweet! Blech! The old me would

have just said, " eh, " and would have finished the handful. I stopped,

realized I didn't want to have anymore, and gave the rest to my

husband. I went and had some almonds instead, which were divine!

Also, I think I'm getting better at detecting " satisfied " feelings. I

think I was a bit premature last week, and ended up hungry fairly

quickly. I had a rather substantial sandwich at lunch yesterday, with

chips, and kept checking in--I decided I was still hungry and just

finished the whole thing. Well, I was good and satisfied all the way

up to dinner. I wasn't terribly hungry for dinner, so I ate very

lightly and felt great!
