I do not know if tickets are still available, but the Autism Society

of Greater Orlando had them as well. They also do Sea of Dreams at Sea

World. Their website is www.asgo.org

Good Morning!

Question: To buy the tickets for Universal, at ASGO, do you have to be a member there?

Can you pleas advise?

That way I will think about joining them (I am already a member at ASA Broward Chapter) so that I will not miss any communications.

I didn't know about this opportunity at all!

Thanks in advance for the answer!

First off, I would like to say that I understand that folks are upset

that they did not get tickets. We should not be upset at Universal

though. They go out of there way every year to make this day possible

and lashing out at them is not the way to handle this. If Autism

Speaks did not plan appropriately, I would suggest speaking with them.

The Autism Society of Greater Orlando e-mailed their members in

advance to let them know when tickets through ASGO would be available.

They handled it very well and send out reminders for this and other

events. They most likely do not have tickets available for Universal

Studios, but they do many events through out the year. Membership is

$25 a year. Every year we go to the Adventures in Autism Day at

Universal and Sea of Dreams at Sea World with them. We also went to

Arabian Nights Dinner Theater and are going to their Holiday party.

They also had tickets to Disney World for an autism day as well. They

area a very active group and supportive of their members. I will tell

you I live in an area that does not have an autism support group, so I

have no problem making the 3 hour drive to be part of the ASGO.

Upcoming Events

November 21 & 22, 2008 – Adventures in Autism 4 at Universal Studios &

Islands of Adventure. This event begins Friday, 11/21/2008 with a kick

off party and continues on 11/22 with a trip to Universal Studios and

Islands of Adventure.

December 19, 2008 – ASGO Holiday Party at Sliderz Adventure Center.

Kids have fun bouncing on moon bouncers, sliding down big slides, and

celebrating among friends. Snacks & presents provided.

February 20, 2009 – Law Enforcement & First Responder Training on Autism.

March 27, 2009 – Autism Awareness Day with the Orlando Magic.

May 30, 2009 – Autism Walk inside the Orange County Convention Center.

Please start getting your teams together to raise funds that will stay

right here in Central Florida to support our families. More

information.

April 4, 2009 – Sea of Dreams 2009.

I also am a member of ASGO. They have many great events and we have attended their Sea of Dreams event for about 6 or 7 years now. I don't do the Universal event because it's too close to Thanksgiving and we spend the holidays in Disney. They're a great bunch too!
