Guest guest
Hey Guys, I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice and let you know how Discovery Cove went. It was amazing! The staff was amazing and my son said he felt like he was royalty. The staff was very knowledgeable and understanding. My son did do the dolphin encounter and they went well out of their way to make him feel comfortable. Afterward they also offered to let him spend more time one on one with the dolphin, but he declined their offer. I wanted to snorkel in the lagoon, but my son was scared of the rays. They had him stand on the wheelchair ramp while I snorkeled. They gave him a fish finder card and the lifeguards watched him while I swam. Since I was snorkeling, I could still hear everything and my son pointed out fish for me to find. There are no lines, no rush and no stress. For a single mom with a child with autism, it is the closest I have ever had to a vacation.

Guest guest
, Wonderful that you were able to enjoy that much! I would like to know more information about your experience with the cruise, who to contact, etc. I am also a single mom and looking for alternatives to do with my son. Thank you! If you can email me that would be great! Best regards, Fabiola Re: Re: Discovery Cove Was Amazing It is in Orlando. They are www.discoverycove. com For the two of us forthe day it was around $400. Guest guest
We are going with http://autismontheseas.com/ We are going in November. I know, really quick. For two reasons.... it is the cheapest and no passport is needed. Since I am a single mother, the father will not consent for us to get a passport so we need to travel before June. Here are the reviews and services they provide http://www.alumnicruises.org/Autism/Autism%202007%20July/aj7_Review.htm I would love to have more parents and kids go with us. I know there are some other families going, but the more the merrier and being a single mom, could use some company. On Mon, Oct 6, 2008 at 3:37 PM, Fabiola A.
