Guest guest
Thank You for the Welcome ! I hope I can contribute something to the group! To introduce myself, my name is Stacie, I am almost 21 years old, I am married to a wonderful man named . We have a 16 month old daughter, and she is still breastfeeding strong. We have cut down to about 3-4 times during the day and about 2-3 times a night, total about 5-7 a day! As I am sure everyone here knows this can vary greatly depending on her moods. If she gets a boo boo, she will ask to nurse. But it is generally about 5-7 times a day. When I gave brith to her and started breastfeeding, it was tough, we went through her latch on problems, she had a rather small mouth and just couldn't seem to get it open wide enough, I also developed mastitis, it was rough for about the first 4 months or so, but I continued , I did it because that was all I knew, I had not even considered NOT breastfeeding. And i was going to give it my best effort, and failure was not an option! I can proudly say she never had to have any formula, and only NOW, at 16 months old has she had a few sips of Cow's Milk. But I never would have thought I would still be nursing her this long, and I plan to continue to nurse her until she is ready to wean. Well again thanks for allowing me to join this loop, and hopefully I can meet some other moms! Thanks, Stacie

Guest guest
>I do ask that all members please introduce yourself to the list and Hello everyone! My name is , and I am currently expecting my second child on OCT 5th. I have a daughter already that will be 10 in June, so I am starting all over =). I nursed my daughter until she was 10 months old, but she was in the day care center in the building next to the one I worked in, so I could nurse at lunch and on breaks. I don't have that luxury this time, so I will have to pump a lot more. We live in Kansas City, and I am active duty Navy. I look forward to meeting everyone on the list! _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Guest guest
He had a sickness bug, and he refused to eat or drink anything for days. He lost about 2lb in weight (and he's only 20lb). Guest guest
Hi ,I just wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome to the group. That actually made my night. It was a how shall I say...challenging day, but goig out with a 2 year old and newborn is bound to be challenging right? Anyways, i have a question for anyone who wants to answer. Is anyone on the Depo-shot? I am and was told it " could " reduce milk supply, I do wonder if that is so, because my daughter eats alot and was I was curious if its because she doesnt get enough from me or if that is the norm for new babies ? Doc said 2 weeks ago she was fine as far as gaining weight and all, but her nursing every 1-2 hours to me seems like alot.Any comments or suggestions would be great. Like i said i am new to b/f and if i ask a dumb question please bare with me lol !!
Guest guest
, Not a dumb question at all. It doesn't sound like she is nursing too much. My daughter nursed about every 45 min. while awake during the day and about every 1 1/2 hours at night, so it sounds fine to me. All babies are different. Guest guest
Amy, Thanks for the info. I ahve an Evenflo pump (cause that's the cheapest battery/electric one I could find). I like it alright. I really despise pumping though. LOL I was thinking of buying some nipples from the Avent company to see if my son would like those better.
