The budget she signed this year raised that funding to $49,000 per child. In 3 years the amt. will rise to $74,000 which is roughly equal to the yearly per-child cost of educating special needs children. Several other disability programs also rec'd increases. Palin shifted $1.25 million in state money to programs that provide social services. Edmands is a Democrat who sits on the Government Counsel on Disabilities and Special Education. She says that Palin was interested in these issues before Trig and had attended council meetings. Edmands is quoted as saying, " She won't just be supportive. She'll be an activist.
