You should look for a doctor and have a blood test and a pelvic. False

positives are not uncommon in women with PCOS, as they pick up some of the

extra hormone. Pregnancy post-WLS doesn't pose any major problems, just be

careful to eat well and take your prenatals on top of your vitamins that you

normally take. Also be sure to take iron, as most women become anemic during

pregnancy and many women who have had WLS are anemic to start with. Hope it

turns out the way you want. Kim

Donna, What is PCOS? If they think the infertility was weight related

than the wt loss may have contributed to your pregnancy. I remember

reading somewhere that the amnt of fat on a womans body interferes with the

under or over production of hormones, I believe estrogen, therefore leading

to the infertility. I didn't use a high risk OB/GYN, in fact I am using a

midwife, CNM, only because I want to do a vaginal delivery since I had 2

previous csections and I believe a midwife will help me do it, they work in

a hospital setting and there is an OB on call all the time if anything

should happen. If I were a high risk candidate, they know their

limitations and I believe they would have not taken me as a pt if the VBG

had anything to do with it.

I would suggest you get a preg test done at a Dr. office to confirm the HPT

too.

Donna,

This is almost exactly how it happened for me! (minus the bcps, of course...)

I went to my family doc who knew and supported my surgery and asked him for a

referral to an OB he liked.

Do you want to hear " simple " ?!?!!? I was on fertility pills for 7 years

after my daughter, who is a fertility pill baby! For the past two years we

were in the mindset that we couldn't have kids, we were no longer on fert.

pills and we were using condoms because it was so soon after my surgery.

Well, put it this way: if it's a boy we're gonna name it Trojan!!! So, yes,

it may just be that simple. Good luck.
