Zinc supplement?

Hi Everyone,With winter upon us, cold & flu season is here, and I've got myself a doozy of a cold right now. I'm looking for a zinc supplement that will help me fight it off, and fend off future ones.Since starting SCD, I've been more susceptible to viruses and infections. I actually think that this is probably part of die-off, healing, and getting stronger. Now that I'm not subjecting my body to the crap ingredients that I used to - including all sorts of refined sugars and flours and transfats - it feels like my body is cleaning house, so to speak. Anyway, in the past, whenever I've gotten a cold or flu, zinc tablets have always helped me. This time, though, my cursory search revealed that zinc lozenges are loaded with illegal fake sugars and flavourings (maltose, dextrose, etc.), so I'd

appreciate any tips that folks can give. I am aware that the chicken soup is loaded with good-for-me ingredients and I'm eating that daily right now. Thanks in advance,Nina in MA

You know, I've wondered about this myself. I know we will not find a

legal lozenge, just isn't gonna happen. Swallowed in pill form, zinc

doesn't appear to have the same effect as taken in the lozenge form. I

wonder if we could make a zinc lozenge using one of the honey candy

recipes? We would need to make sure we could regulate the dosage of

zinc that went into each piece would be the only problem. Hmmmmm.
