Perhaps there are some parents that would like to contribute their stories for the benefit of others. The last section seems to offer some option to obtain legal advice, as well.

Happy ADHD Awareness Week!

Take time to encourage those around you to learn more about the condition, and seek treatment and support, if needed.

To help you get started, ADDitude has created a new resource center that provides education, support, and community to ADD adults, children, and families.

1. When did you begin to see ADD as a gift? Along with a few challenges, ADHD brings creativity, enthusiasm, intuition, and countless other positive traits. Tell us about the day or moment when you began to see your ADD--or your child's--for the gift that it is.2. Share your successful sleep strategies! Sleep can be a struggle for ADDers, young and old. We want to hear how you get your child to turn off the lights and fall asleep each night. Do you have an evening routine that helps your active child wind down? Any tips for an ADD-friendly bedroom environment? Tell us what works for you.3. Please provide your first and last names, city, and state, so that we can attribute your response correctly, if printed. You may also choose to remain anonymous, or to provide only your first name and state, if you prefer.4. Seeking Legal Advice? Do you have any legal questions about health insurance coverage? Has your child ever been denied special-ed services at school? Are you wondering whether to disclose a diagnosis on the job, or how to request workplace accommodations ? Describe your specific problem to our disabilities attorney. And rest assured: Legal queries will remain anonymous if printed!
