NEW: Sign Language for

Individuals with Autism: A Motor Planning Approach

Often children with autism have

difficulty learning sign language

utilizing traditional approaches.

This is due to the fact that they have

motor planning issues. Motor

planning is the ability to start, perform and

complete a series of movements. This

class describes an approach called

Pre-Sign and Sequenced Sign that teaches

sign language by improving the

individual's motor planning skills.

NEW: Communication Strategies for

Low and Non-Verbal Children

This class will focus on strategies

to enhance communication skills for

individuals who are either

non-verbal or low-verbal. Different techniques

for incorporating Augmentative and

Alternative Communication (AAC) will be

discussed.
