Depends on what the chicken might have been injected with or marinated in

to make it " tastier " -- could be starch and sugar, like

Butterball turkeys use.

It also depends on what they might baste it with while it's being

rotisseried, and if they have multiple birds in (as they always do) if

some of the sauce from another kind of bird might drip on the one you're

getting.

I recommend a Foreman grille or equivalent for fast meals, and a crock

pot for slower meals. Your no-fuel situation reminds me of the first six

months after we got home from the Katrina evacuation. I never knew if I'd

have a working stove or oven or not. You have my sympathy.

Look at it this way -- you have a gas stove AND electricity. I have one

of those mid-1960s Total Electric Living kitchens. When the power goes

out, I'm doomed. (I'm threatening to get a small propane stove....)
