Guest guest
, I would stay away from any of the pumps made by bottle or formula companies like the Evenflo, etc. The only one that is worth a darn seems to be the Avent Isis. Several of my friends use it daily and have had great results. I used the battery/plug in Medela with good results (for me) too.

Guest guest
Hello, i was wondering if any of you can recommend a good pump for just occasional use at a reasonable price. I am SAHM so i will only need to pump once in a while, I dont want to spend alot either. Has anyone had experience with the Evenflow Battery/Electric pump? I saw it was cheap, but was wondering its effectiveness. Mommy to : 8/8/96 Katelyn 3/26/
Guest guest
, I have heard that it can damage your breast tissue. Everyone has been raving about the Avent Isis. Maybe you could find one used. Wendi Re: pump ?? From: USMCWIFE361@... () Hello, i was wondering if any of you can recommend a good pump for just occasional use at a reasonable price. Guest guest
I had one, bout took my nipple off! Then I bought the Gerber Electirc one about the same price, now that didn't take my nipple off but still leaves them sore. For me I get more out if I just sqeeze my breast and hand express then I do with a pump and I am not sore when I hand express either. Re: pump ?? From: USMCWIFE361@... It is pretty expensive though-about $180. I have heard many good comments about the Avent Isis manual pump. It costs about $50 and is good for occasional pumping. But to put the price of a pump into better perspective, let's say you were going to choose to combine breastfeeding with formula while you were separated from your baby and not pumping. A can of powdered formula is expected to last two days for an infant not eating solids. It costs about $10 per can, including tax. One can should make 105 ounces of formula, which is 21 five-ounce bottles, at $0.48 per bottle of formula. You would send at least 4-5 bottles to a sitter at about $2-$2.50 per day. One week would be $10. You would " pay for " your pump in 18 weeks, or 4.5 months, of *just* the formula sent to daycare. This doesnt include the costs of bottles, since I have no idea how much bottles cost anymore, or replacement nipples, or pacifiers...or bottles of formula given after daycare hours. Not a bad investment to get your return in such a short time!

I bought the Purely yours by Ameda even though I am a SAHM. Well worth the investment. I don't leave Noah long enough to need bottles of expressed milk, I just pump for milk to mix with his cereal.
