Poison ivy? Flea bites? Chiggers? Reaction to local pollens? If it is all over your body, it may be systemic, and something in your bloodstream, but not caused by breastfeeding. Guest guest
Felicia, my daughter has the same and they are slowly spreading down her chest. They look like just baby acne to me, but since it spread im going to make a appointment. She has them all over her face, all over her scalp, neck, and going down her chest now.I called the doc a few days ago and she said if it looks like acne it probably is, but now im worried because its getting worse. My daughter is 5 weeks. Mommy to : 8/8/96 Katelyn 3/26/
Guest guest
Wendi, the funny part is that it seems worse after i breastfeed. I hate to take her to the doc if its just acne though which i think it is because some have white heads on them. Maybe my breastmilk irritates her skin? Guest guest
Christi, Even if it is a virus there isn't much to be done other than comfort measures. If your baby shows signs of illness: lethargy, lack of appetite, fever, vomiting, diarrhea then of course you should take your baby to be seen by your health care practitioner. I have seen several cases of baby acne that was not isolated to just the face. I am sure that it wasn't a viral infection as these baby's showed absolutely no signs of illness.
