Guest guest
We recently ate a Lara Bar this week and split it between 4 people. I wanted to taste it and tried my own version at home. Use a food processor add nuts, dates, fruit and whirl in blender with vanilla or a bit of orange peel if desired. Roll intp balls and in dried coconut. It came pretty close to the real deal. The more dates added the more moisture content. It is very flexible and a super fast treat. 2 yr old Child on SCD since Feb 9th, 2008, may put another child on it soon Lara Bars Here is a post recently on the subject. Some of the larabars have obvious illegal ingredients: the chocolate ones; some have questionable ingredients : the banana cookie bars(you don't know if the bananas used were ripe or not). Some of the Larabars seem to have ingredients that *may* be okay.Digestive Wellness sells a few - **but** with a lot of dried fruitsand nuts chunks, they are an advanced food item for those who havehad a lot of healing with the diet.I don't know if they have been rechecked lately (to see if they havemade changes to their ingredient lists).
