Guest guest
Oh thanks for that Caroline, I had read that some birds and fish don't like it. I'm just wondering if I am treading on dangerous ground making my own insecticides!!! Did you see the monkey and the millipede in " Cousins " on BBC1 last night? Regards re: Organic control of Household Pests , According to my 'bible' the insect powder is'harmless to human beings' and very effective but not sure about livestock though. The main difficulty will be in getting pure , unadulterated seed for growing the plants and then propagating it. It does seem to be rather difficult with low germination success and apparently the growers in Dalmatia dry the seed with heat to prevent germination so maybe thats where the ddogy bit comes from.It originates in Dalmatia -Herzegovnia and Montenegro - maybe a way to regenerate those poor countries. It is a mountain plant so needs well draining soil, sunlight and warmth. HTH Caroline Jersey
