Hi Eileen

I don't want to sound like a prophet of doom, but I deal with chronic nausea; it's part of my upper GI disorders. I just saw my gastroenterologist this morning because my nausea has been a lot worse in the past few months. It was bad to severe before I started SCD, and during the first year when I was going through the detoxing and healing. Then it improved and became minimal most of the time, and I actually had several hours a day completely free from nausea.

But, alas it's back... My doctor suspects either my gastroparesis is worse, or my liver is acting up, so for starters he wants me to try Reglan, a stomach motility med. I saw my neurologist a few weeks ago, and mentioned my increased nausea because it can be triggered by other body systems than digestive (or so he informed me a year ago). He thinks it's probably tied into my deteriorating nervous system, but didn't have any solutions.

So, take your choice! My suggestion is to continue to journal your foods and supplements and experiment to see if something is triggering nausea for you. I found supplements often caused just as much nausea as food. You definitely should also discuss your nausea with your doctors, maybe they can run the standard tests and see if you have poor digestive motility or other issues. Neurological issues can also be a contributing factor for nausea.

I keep a supply of nausea meds on hand at all times. Right now I'm using Phenergan, but there are others. It helps to have a night off several times a week from severe nausea....
