Guest guest
The Mt. Sinai group is supposedly first rate. I am pre-op with Dr. Gagner. The best news is that the group does the DS Lap. There's also a Dr. Pomp, Dr. Herron and one other (I can NEVER remember his name). I'm having a revision from VBG to DS in January 2001. Hope this helps. Good luck! Sandy K. Guest guest
Hi Sandy..It's me again..Darlene. Have you met with Dr. Gagner yet? If so, how did you feel about him? I would basically like someone who " seems to care. " Again, thanks. Darlene
Guest guest
hello darlene, joe d here. welcome to the list. you've joined forces with the most giving and caring group of supporters you could ever ask for. there are many excellent DS physicians in the new york area and your decision will be difficult without carefully screening each doctor to see who is the right one for you. i am nearly five months post-op, have lost ninety two pounds and have had NO complications....no pain no nausea, no vomiting, ever. i feel i am very fortunate as not all have done as well as i have. obviously not everyone reacts the same to major surgery so some will not do as well as others. my surgeon is dr. j. macura. he has offices in brooklyn and staten island, is the staten island number. he operates in both staten island university hospital and mamomides (sic??) hospital in brooklyn. he and his staff are top shelf, very caring, very organized and very concerned. he operates only open , not lap and my stay ( 6 days ) at staten island univ hosp was a 9 out of 10. hope this helps.....anything, just ask......sea ya joe d i'd rather be fishing
