Guest guest
Hi There, I've been on the SCD for about 5 weeks now and have had UC for going on 12 years. For the first 2 weeks I did not follow the intro diet properly so I'm only counting that I have been on the diet for 3 weeks. I have found some improvement however slight. The bleeding has improved quite a bit but I still do not have solid BM's. I think this is due to still having mucus, does anyone have information on what helps stop the secretion of mucus? Or what is a general guesstimate of when this would start to subside? I'm also taking prednisone and asacol. Thanks.
Guest guest
I've recently stopped eating (most) fructose (honey)/fruits with fructose and thatseems to have helped me a lot with that issue. There are no guesstimates as everyone is different - the trick is to findwhat works for you.Good luck. And welcome to the group.MaraSCD 8.5 monthsHi There,I've been on the SCD for about 5 weeks now and have had UC for going on12 years. Guest guest
, Welcome to the list -- and glad you are having improvements. Keep in mind, however, that you have been ill for 12 years, and it may take more than a month for you to heal. When I was first on SCD, having formed stool which did not disintegrate on hitting the water in the toilet was called " having a trophy. " It may take more healing before you're having those -- and you should find that the mucus production slows down as you heal, also. Slow and steady is the route to full healing! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
