Guest guest
Hi .... You're doing your research! Very good! Instead of trying to find " the best surgery, " try making a list of all the features each surgery has to offer. They are all very unique and offer such different routes to go. I talked to a man the other night trying to decide on the MGB or the DS & in the end, his priority was not to be under anestesia for a 3 hour surgery & went with the MGB becuase of the 40 minute surgery time. Another wanted the " dumping syndrome " associated with the RNY so she wouldn't eat sweets & would change her eating habits. This was most important to her and the other risks were OK with her. For me, long term success of the procedure was most important to me. I didn't care about open or lap, long scar, short scar, I wanted long term success. I went with the DS. In the end, it all depends on YOUR personal preference and not which surgery is " best " but which surgery is " best for YOU. " Hope this helps....... heidi Home Page: http://www.myWLS.com Direct email: mailto:heidij@...
