Guest guest
I agree. What a sad commentary on the accountability (actually the lack thereof) of our state agencies. It would be great if there were some specific actions listed that would illustrate exactly how the agencies (including the agency for persons with disabilities) and how will fulfill their obligation to people with dd and their families. Now if we only had enough money to provide the services that everyone needs, we would be in great shape. The state of Florida has to find ways to stop cutting services to the most vulnerable citizens. Also, while this is a very nice gesture, do we really need to have all these agencies sign something that should be happening everyday, anyway? I am sorry, if we spent half the time providing what we should be providing to those in need as we do talking about it and having conferences and meetings about what we need to be doing, we would not have most of the problems we have today. I guess after 23 years, I am getting cynical. I do not mean to offend anyone involved in this agreement or the people that recommended it. It is just frustrating that in 2008 we have to sign agreements to agree that the agencies are going to do what they get paid to do already.
